Our Strategies

  • Develop educational campaign/materials focused on normalizing and increasing awareness for a targeted population around behavioral health issues. ​ 

  • Audit marketing and messaging of current behavioral health services and resources to determine how to share information more effectively. ​ 

  • Target stigma reduction materials at community gathering places, including schools, local markets, clinics, libraries, etc. ​ 

  • Develop and fund training on behavioral health/rapid crisis response such as QPR and gatekeeper training for community-based organizations and community members (moved from Strategy 1)​

Consolidated and revised focus of strategic actions have led the project team to focus its efforts on the development of a communications toolkit to support organizations within the WICHC area with development of relevant, localized, and best practices related to communication about stigma, behavioral health awareness, and availability of services.  

Communication toolkit anticipated to be completed by Fall 2025.

Gathered information from training agencies around the WICHC region. Compiled available trainings to create this website and shareable training flyer to assist community organizations and members take part in existing trainings to increase awareness of behavioral health needs, recognize signs of suicide, and respond to overdose, and more.

Resources to Support the Work

  • Community-based trainings are provided by a variety of organizations across the WICHC region.

  • The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (IDJC) also compiles relevant behavioral health trainings from around the state. Training opportunities are listed below.
